Residents, property owners and business people have two weeks left to tell the Christchurch City Council what they think about the vision, goals and actions proposed in the Draft Sydenham and Lyttelton Master Plans for the rebuild and recovery of their suburban commercial centres.

The deadline for written comments is 5pm on Monday, 19 December 2011.

Mayor Bob Parker says over 100 people came to the first Sydenham drop-in session on 26 November and there has been a steady stream of submissions on both Draft Master Plans.

“The feedback we have received at the Sydenham drop-in session was very encouraging.

There is a great deal of hope in the community for the future of the area,” he says.

Programme Manager, Healthy Environment Jenny Ridgen says people have been sending in submissions on the Draft Lyttelton Master Plan, and the Council is expecting a lot of interest in the drop-in sessions.

“At the drop-in sessions people can view the Draft Master Plans, discuss their contents with Council staff and make submissions either while they are there or send these in later,” she says.
