Green Party congratulates David Shearer on Labour leadership

Green Party Co-leaders Metiria Turei and Russel Norman have congratulated David Shearer on his election as Labour Party leader.

"Congratulations to David Shearer on his election as the 13th leader of the New Zealand Labour Party. We wish him the best of luck," said Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei.

"We have had constructive working relationships with previous Labour leaders Phil Goff and Helen Clark and look forward to developing a good relationship with David Shearer too.

"We also congratulate Grant Robertson on his election as Labour Party deputy leader.
