Oil Spill

Police in the Far North are currently dealing with an oil spill along SH10 in the Kaeo area.

The spill stretches for hundreds of metres and affects both north and southbound lanes.

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes in their travels or drive with extreme care if you must travel through this part of the highway.

Two lanes are still open although reduced to one in some parts.

Roading Agencies staff are now working to make the road safe.

Will advise further if more information comes to hand.
