Fatal Crash- Pedestrian struck by Train- Middlemore Train Station

At about 6.55am this morning, Monday 19 December 2011, a pedestrian was struck by a train in South Auckland.

This incident happened about 200 meters south of Middlemore Station.

The pedestrian was struck by a North bound train and died at the scene.

No trains are running in either direction on this line at the moment while emergency services complete their response.

There are likely to be delays for most of the morning.

Police are completing their identification and crash investigation.
