Overdue day walkers

Police and Land SAR volunteers are currently searching an area of bush near Eastbourne in hopes of locating an Omani couple who failed to return from their day walk yesterday evening.

The two are in their 50s, and while healthy, fit and experienced in the outdoors, neither were dressed or equipped appropriately for spending a night in the open.

Anyone who may have seen the couple Sunday afternoon or evening on the walking tracks above Eastbourne are asked to call Wellington Police.
