Library users can now renew books from Far North District Council libraries online.

The council has made it possible for people with valid library cards to extend the loan period of a book they have out via the ‘My Account” link at http://library.fndc.govt.nz.

The new service will save people phoning or visiting their branch to renew items.

However, borrowers will only be able to use the online feature to renew each item once.

Second renewals need to be sighted by library staff as outlined in the council’s longstanding libraries policy.

While most items can be renewed, there are exceptions including National Library talking books, music CDs and inter-library loan books.

Library staff will continue to deal happily with any renewal requests from borrowers who do not have online access.Library users can now renew books from Far North District Council libraries online.
