Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Gerry Brownlee has today (21 December) received a copy of the final draft Central City Plan for his consideration.

The Christchurch City Council adopted the draft Plan, a framework of more than 70 projects to redevelop Christchurch as one of the most modern cities in the world following February’s destructive earthquake, last Thursday (15 December).

The Council has today notified the Plan, on behalf of the Minister, for further written comments. The final draft Plan, also known as the Recovery Plan for the Christchurch CBD under the CER Act, is available on the Council’s website – www.ccc.govt.nz/centralcityplan – CERA’s website – www.cera.govt.nz – and copies can be viewed at Christchurch City Libraries and the Council’s Service Centres.

All written comments must be sent to the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority, Private Bag 4999, Christchurch 8140 or emailed to CBDrecoveryplan@cera.govt.nz. Comments must be received by Friday 3 February 2012.
