Please drive to the wet conditions
Police are asking all drivers to take extra care with the current wet weather upon us. Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Holmes of the Western Bay of Plenty Road Policing unit said that road conditions and visibility can change very quickly.
Mr Holmes said that visibility on SH 29 over the Kaimai ranges was poor due to low cloud and rain .Visibility and road surface conditions on other highways in and around the Western Bay of Plenty was also affected due to the current weather.
Drivers need to reduce their speed and increase their following distances and drive with headlights on. MR Holmes urged all drivers to take extreme care as the risk of losing control in the wet conditions was high.
