Labour offers condolences following tragedy

Labour leader David Shearer has conveyed his deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the 11 people who lost their lives in this morning’s tragic ballooning accident.

“On behalf of all my Labour colleagues I want to extend our sincerest condolences to everyone affected by this sad and shocking event.

“To have lost loved ones so unexpectedly and in such circumstances must be heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with you all at this most difficult time,” David Shearer said.
