TNZ acknowledges Air New Zealand's top award

Tourism New Zealand has joined the Minister of Tourism and Tourism Industry Association in congratulating key airline partner Air New Zealand for receiving the prestigious Air Transport World's Airline of the Year award for the second time in three years.

Tourism New Zealand's General Manager Marketing Communications, Justin Watson, says, "Being the first airline to win the award twice in the almost 40 year history of the awards is a significant achievement and suitably acknowledges the airlines industry-leading innovation and success.

"Air New Zealand is a critical part of the tourism industry and I congratulate the airline and its staff in this achievement.

"Air New Zealand provides extensive support for our inbound tourism sector and is a significant partner for Tourism New Zealand, working alongside us to achieve our strategic objective to improve air capacity and increase our offshore marketing reach and effectiveness in the promotion of New Zealand as a travel destination," he says.
