BLENHEIM

Five hundred resource management and planning professionals, business, local and central government leaders from New Zealand and overseas will visit Blenheim on 1-4 May 2012 for the New Zealand Planning Institute’s national conference.

The conference includes presentation of papers from national and international experts, workshops and visiting local examples of these issues.

The topics of this year’s conference are:

  • Community responses to natural hazards
  • Changes in community governance
  • Public and private sector relationships in resource management
  • Urban design

These conferences are commonly attended by a wide range of people with professional, business and general interest in the development of our communities, and use and management of the built and natural environments.

The conference includes a range of field trips showing off the attractions and activities related to each of the main themes. Delegates often stay longer to visit other parts of the host regions.
