LOWER HUTT

A by-election is to be held to fill a vacancy on the Eastbourne Community Board following the resignation of Geoff Rashbrooke.

The by-election will take place on Wednesday 4 April 2012.

Nominations

Nominations for the position open on Tuesday 17 January 2012 and must be made on the appropriate nomination paper available from the Hutt City Council office at 30 Laings Road, Lower Hutt.

Completed nomination documents must be received by the Electoral Officer no later than 12 noon on Tuesday 14 February 2012. Each nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of $200 incl GST, payable by eftpos, cash or cheque.

Candidates may submit a candidate profile statement and recent photograph for sending out with voting documents to electors if an election is required. The requirements for profile statements and photos are set out in a candidate information booklet which is available with the nomination paper.

Electoral Roll

A Preliminary Electoral Roll for the by-election can be inspected during normal office hours from Tuesday 17 January 2012 to Tuesday 14 February 2012 at the Hutt City Council office, 30 Laings Rd, Lower Hutt or the Eastbourne Library, Rimu Street, Eastbourne.

Electors may enrol or amend their enrolment details on the Residential Electoral Roll by:

 

Applications for registration as a ratepayer elector are to be made on the non-resident ratepayer elector enrolment form available from the Council office.

Updates to the Preliminary Electoral Roll close at 5pm on 14 February 2012.

Election Details

In the event that an election is required to fill this vacancy the election will be conducted by postal voting under the First Past the Post electoral system.
