Meeting to discuss flood measures at Kaeo
The Whangaroa community will have a further opportunity to learn more about progress on flood recovery initiatives and long term strategies for Kaeo flood protection at a public meeting scheduled for Monday 05 November.
The meeting at the Kaeo Memorial Hall at 6 p.m. will look at the Northland Regional Council river management strategy announced last week and discuss the way forward to reduce the level of flooding in the township and associated catchments.
Recovery Coordinator Andrew Dowdle says the meeting will also be an opportunity for residents to raise concerns and suggest options for longer term flood mitigation in the area.
“With the immediate flood recovery programme on track, it is now time to start defining longer term options for the community,” he says.
