MOREISH skincare adds new bodycare products to its argan oil based range

MOREISH, the argan oil based New Zealand skincare brand has extended its range to include bodycare products. Body Oil, Body Butter and Body Wash have been added to the unique range to allow consumers to enjoy soft nourished skin all over.

“The MOREISH skincare range has been so well received we wanted to provide our loyal customers with more! We’ve extended the range beyond facial products to include offerings that have the same desirable benefits for the body at an affordable price,” says MOREISH Brand Manager, Emma Duncan.

New MOREISH Body Oil combines precious natural oils in a decadent daily treatment to soften, regenerate and protect the skin. Body Butter is a pampering cream blend of nourishing antioxidant-rich plant oils including almond oil and moisturising shea and cocoa butters to leave skin silky smooth.

Formulated with manuka honey, silky smooth Body Wash comes in a large 500ml bottle and contains green tea and pohutukawa extracts. It cleanses the skin of dirt and impurities, whilst moisturisers help to rehydrate the skin.

Known as ‘liquid gold’, argan oil is the cold pressed, extra virgin oil extracted from the kernel of the Moroccan argan fruit. Rich in Vitamin E, Omega-9 and antioxidants, the rare oil has been used for centuries by the Berber tribeswomen who harvest it to nourish their skin, hair and nails in the dry desert heat. Argan oil is internationally renowned for its remarkable nourishing, regenerative and anti-ageing properties.

Launched in the latter part of 2011, MOREISH is made in New Zealand by API Consumer Brands. The MOREISH skincare range comprises 15 facial products to suit all skin types including night and day creams, cleansers, masks, a salvation balm and pure argan oil; and now three beneficial products for the body too.

MOREISH employs a ‘natural products’ approved preservative system, using no chemicals such as parabens or phenoxyethanol. MOREISH products contain no petrochemicals, synthetic colours or synthetic fragrances, have recyclable packaging, and are not tested on animals.

Argan oil

The oil has also been adored in Morocco for centuries as an external nourishing treatment, which is harvested by artisanal methods by the women of Southern Morocco.

Argan oil production is laborious; traditionally, the seeds are collected by the local Berber women and then pressed to extract the oil. It takes about 32 kilograms of the kernels and about 12-20 hours of hand processing to produce just one litre of Argan oil.

The Argan tree grows wild in semi-desert soil and its deep root system acts as the last barrier against the northern advance of the Sahara desert. To meet increasing international demand for precious argan oil, the Moroccan women’s co-operatives plant more Argan trees – benefiting not only the environment, but also 90% of the local population who depend on it for their livelihood.
