The National Aquarium of New Zealand is offering innovative digital tours to enhance visitors’ experience of the popular Marine Parade attraction.

Wi-Fi has been made available on site at the Napier City Council-owned aquarium, so visitors with any type of Smart device, android phones and iPads are able to download as they view exhibits using QR codes displayed on the walls nearby.

The free video clips – most of them featuring staff members and 90 seconds long – communicate information about the specific exhibits so that, by using the technology, visitors become their own virtual tour guides.

The short videos and audio clips can also be downloaded from home by accessing the website www.nationalaquarium.co.nz
