SUBWAY® restaurants have introduced new nutritional tips in restaurants nationwide.

The new nutrition information provides guidance to customers on watching their calorie, sodium and fat intake. Located directly in front of the customer on the sandwich unit, nutrition information is one of the first details the customer sees when they step up to make their choice.

“Helping our customers make the best choices for a healthier lifestyle is important to us,” says Head of Marketing David Herrick. “We wanted to make choosing good choices from the SUBWAY® menu easier and have details on the nutritional value of our menu readily available.”

Sarah Hanrahan, New Zealand Nutrition Foundation Dietitian, says the increase in information available to customers is welcome.

“In light of the recent discussion around the usefulness of nutrition information in various fast food outlets, it is great to see Subway making an effort to provide easy to understand, relevant nutrition information,” says Hanrahan.
In a recent study by the Clinical Trials Research Unit at The University of Auckland* SUBWAY® restaurants were identified as a leader in the quick service restaurant industry for availability of nutritional information and accessibility for healthier options on their menus.

A new nutrition brochure detailing the full SUBWAY® menu is also available at point of purchase and on the SUBWAY® website: www.subway.co.nz
