Tourism New Zealand is pleased to announce its two appointments to the Board of Directors of the Visitor Information Network (VIN) Inc, trading as i-SITE New Zealand.
Jason Hill, Manager Tourism, Auckland Tourism, Events, and Economic Development (ATEED) and David Perks Chief Executive Officer, Positively Wellington Tourism have been appointed for an initial term of two years, effective 1 February 2012.

i-SITE Board Chairman and Tourism New Zealand's General Manager Tourism Operations Paul Yeo says the new appointments provide greater involvement of i-SITE owners with larger, mid-sized and smaller regional operations represented.

The six member i-SITE board is made up of three Directors appointed by Tourism New Zealand (Hill and Perks and Yeo) and three elected members. Board members must be either an owner or manager of one of the more than 90 i-SITES in operation across the country.

One further position is currently vacant following the resignation of elected member Larry Lumsden, effective 31 January, 2012.

Mr Yeo says the Constitution allows the Board, to co-opt a director from the membership to fill this vacancy.

"This will be discussed at the next Board meeting scheduled for 8 February, 2012. I'd like to thank those members who put themselves forward for consideration as directors. Those who have been unsuccessful will also be considered for the remaining vacancy."

The new Board is as follows:

  • Paul Yeo (Chairman): i-SITE Executive Manager and General Manager Tourism Operations, Tourism New Zealand.
  • Garry Brunton (elected): Manager Tirau, Tokoroa, Taumarunui and Ruapehu i-SITEs
  • Jason Hill (appointed): Manager Tourism, Auckland Tourism, Events, and Economic Development (ATEED)
