WELLINGTON CITY

Wellington Police are investigating a robbery on Samuel Parnell Road in Karori earlier this morning.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Perry of the Wellington CIB says at about 9:50am this morning, an employee of a local hotel was en route to do the daily banking.

"As the man got out of his vehicle, a white sedan pulled up next to him. Two offenders got out of the vehicle and one of them punched the victim once in the head. The offenders took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim before fleeing in the vehicle to Parkvale Road, towards Friend Street."

Acting D/S/S Perry says whilst the victim was left shaken, he did not require any medical treatment.

"We are continuing to make further enquiries into this robbery but would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the offenders or the white sedan vehicle they were believed to be driving."

Anyone with any information should contact Wellington Police on (04) 381 2000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
