Lower Hutt Police is seeking additional volunteers to operate their suite of CCTV Cameras.

The Hutt Safe City Group, that supports the Lower Hutt Police CCTV Camera structure, is seeking additional volunteers to operate their suite of Cameras. This will cover the Lower Hutt CBD, Naenae, Stokes Valley and Petone, with Wainuiomata to be added to the suite shortly.

Volunteers usually operate the Camera’s in three hour shifts, covering a variety of times and days, and provide a valuable resource to Police in Lower Hutt, and at the same time, contribute to a safer city and suburbs for us all.

The current group of volunteers come from all walks of life, and contribute as little as a shift or two per month due to work commitments, or are able to offer greater time periods to the camera’s, if their lifestyle so allows.

Excellent training and support is available to operators.

Ability to use and have access to a computer is a great help, and all volunteers are subject to Police vetting.
