Hollard Gardens is as pretty as a picture – a perfect setting for a free photography workshop this Sunday (26 February) led by the Stratford Camera Club.

Club members will offer tips and lighting and composition from 2pm to 3.30pm at Hollard Gardens, the 4.5ha Kaponga property renowned for its plant collection.

“The gardens are in full summer bloom and the ideal setting for learning more about photography,” says the Taranaki Regional Council’s Regional Gardens Manager, Greg Rine.

“And the gardens are open until 8pm, so you can stay on and enjoy the summer evening and take advantage of the free barbecue at Hollards.”

Workshop participants should meet at the gatehouse at 2pm. Anyone wanting specific advice on their own camera should bring its instruction book.

Hollard Gardens will also be the venue for a Harvest Festival on Taranaki Anniversary Day, Monday 12 March. There will be vegetable contests, market stalls, live music and entertainment for young and old. See www.hollardgardens.info for more information.
