Urban Plus Appoints New Chief Executive

Urban Plus Limited has appointed a new Chief Executive, Gary Nichols, to manage its property portfolio and strategic projects, chairman of the Board, Bryan Jackson, announced today.

“We are seeking to develop a new strategic direction which includes growing our pensioner housing portfolio, managing earthquake strengthening of Hutt City Council properties, and promoting the council’s Making Places strategy,” he said.

Urban Plus is a Hutt City Council stand alone property company.

The new Chief Executive has extensive experience in the property industry as consultant and manger to various national organisations including development of property strategies.

“In announcing the new appointment I wish to acknowledge the excellent work of the acting Chief Executive, Stuart Duncan, who has a kept a steady hand on the company over the last two years,” said Mr Jackson.

Mr Nichols will take up his appointment early next month (March 7).

The appointment coincides with the retirement of Mr Jackson as chair of the board.

His replacement will be Brian Walsh who noted that the retiring chair, Bryan Jackson, had given long and dedicated service to the board of Urban Plus.
