Chief Executives performance reviewed
Hamilton City Council’s Chief Executive Barry Harris has received a positive performance review from Council for his first six months on the job.
At today’s Full Council meeting, it was agreed Mr Harris should receive half of the 10 per cent “at risk” portion of his annual salary, having met agreed performance targets for the first half year of his employment.
The $18,000 he will receive is part of his annual $360,000 salary and not additional, or a bonus.
Commenting Mayor Julie Hardaker says: “Mr Harris’ performance for his first six months with Council has come under close scrutiny by a working group of five Councillors, as well as the full scrutiny of Council today. Councillors believe he is doing a good job for the organisation in the challenging environment he has taken on.
“His performance has been assessed positively against a range of measures and as a result Council agreed he should receive the “at risk” portion of his salary for this period.”
