Toxic algae update

Heavy rain over the last 24 hours is likely to have removed most, if not all, potentially toxic cyanobacteria mats from the Hutt, Waikanae and Waipoua rivers.

However, river users should exercise caution when walking dogs or swimming in these rivers as remnant cyanobacteria mats may remain.
