Battery Road Reconfiguration Work

Traffic improvements are to be carried out on Battery Road over the next few months.

The road will be resurfaced with an asphalt smoothing layer and stop signs installed at the Bull Street, Coronation Street, Ossian Street and Goldsmith Road intersections.

Angled parking outside the Port Ahuriri Bowling Club is to be converted into parallel parking, and the existing cycle lane between the Hyderabad Road intersection and Princess Alexandra Retirement Village extended eastward along Battery Road to the Shakespeare Road intersection.

Street lighting will also be upgraded as part of the staged project, which is being undertaken in line with traffic improvement recommendations made by the Crash Reduction Study Group.
