Male found deceased in Oratia Stream, West Auckland

At 12.15 this afternoon, members of the public contacted Police after seeing what they believed to be the body of a person in the Oratia Stream, Henderson, West Auckland.

Police attended and together with the Search and Rescue Team searched the stream.

At 3pm Police located a deceased male in the Oratia Stream near Edsel Street, Henderson.

The male has now been removed from the stream and taken to Auckland Hospital Mortuary.

Police are now confirming the identity of the male.

Enquires to establish cause of death will be continuing.

No further comment will be made until all next of kin have been informed.
