Serious Crash- State Highway One north of Oteha Valley Road
At about 6.30 am this morning a serious crash occurred a couple of kilometres north of Oteha Valley Road on the southbound lanes of State Highway One.
A black Harley Davidson motorcycle was travelling south bound on the motorway and lost control in bad weather conditions.
The rider of that motorcycle died at the scene.
The south bound lanes 1 and 2 of the motorway are blocked and are likely to remain so for the next two hours.
One lane remains open however motorists are warned to expect significant delays.
Traffic is being diverted off the motorway north of the crash scene along East Coast Bays Road.
Serious crash investigators are attending the scene and Police are working to clear the motorway as soon as possible.
Witnesses are sought for the actions of the motorcycle prior to the crash and the crash itself.
