Transit’s Chris Allen to move to Council
Council CEO Michael Redman today announced the appointment of Chris Allen to the role General Manager Works and Services for Council. Chris is currently Transit New Zealand Regional Manager.
The role of General Manager Works and Services provides leadership for the long-term strategic development of the city’s infrastructure and ensures the provision and maintenance of core assets and services for residents of Hamilton.
Michael Redman says that given this crucial portfolio, Chris’s appointment represents a fantastic addition to the senior management team and the organisation.
“I’m very pleased to be announcing Chris’s appointment today. Chris has high level and extensive experience in sophisticated infrastructural development and project management. He is a long time Hamiltonian, is committed to the city and knows its issues intimately. He is highly respected and brings with him exceptional strategic and leadership skills, which are critical to be effective in the modern local government environment.”
Chris says he is extremely excited about the opportunity and to work with the team at Council.

Chris will start in the role on 1 February 2008.
