Selection criteria
In order to earn an automatic nomination to the NZOC for inclusion on the triathlon team for London, New Zealand athletes must finish first Kiwi and inside the top 8 overall. Click here for selection criteria.

New Zealand will have at least 4 starters in London (2 men, 2 women), however should New Zealand finish in the top 8 nations according to ITU Olympic rankings as at 8th June 2012 for either men or women, New Zealand will earn a further spot on the start line. These potential third athlete nominations will also be subject to approval from the NZOC.

Selection announcement
Post the elite men’s and women’s races in Sydney on Saturday, the Tri NZ selection panel will meet in Sydney to consider key performances against the criteria and nominate athletes to the NZOC for inclusion in the London Olympic Games team. Andrea Hewitt is the only athlete thus far to have earned an automatic nomination. This team will be made public at a function on Wednesday 18th April, venue and timing of this announcement will be confirmed on Monday 16th April.
