Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys go Public at Brooklands Zoo
The zoo’s five Bolivian squirrel monkeys have moved into their new enclosure, giving the public their first look at the high-energy arrivals.
“The squirrel monkeys are always on the go – they’ll be a big hit with visitors,” says Assistant Curator Brooklands Zoo Eve Cozzi.
“They’ve got lots of space in their new enclosure and they’re having a great time exploring all of its features.”
The monkeys are a bachelor group that are part of a breeding programme with Wellington and Auckland zoos, plus other Zoo and Aquarium Association member zoos in Australia.
Males may be rotated between the zoos every two or three years.
