Nominations for Hutt City Civic Awards open

Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace is encouraging people to acknowledge those dedicated to volunteer service by nominating them for a Hutt City Civic Award.

“We have a wealth of people in our city who give their time selflessly to help others and our Civic Awards are about recognising the outstanding work they do.

“The awards, in their 36th year, are a fantastic opportunity to say thank you to our long-term community volunteers.”

There are six Hutt City Civic Award categories: community services, cultural affairs, educational services, recreation, social welfare and youth activities.

Nomination forms are available from council’s buildings on Laings Road, Hutt City libraries, by calling 570 6666 or at www.huttcity.govt.nz

Nominations close 5pm, Friday 8 June.
