Man Aged 95 Years Stabbed In His Home
A 95 year old man is in a stable condition in Auckland Hospital after being stabbed in his home by an intruder.
Police say they attended at an address in Glendene, West Auckland at about 9.30pm last night Wednesday 18 April 2012. On arrival officers found the victim seriously injured with a single stab wound to his head.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Auckland hospital where doctors carried out immediate surgery on the facial injury.
Police enquiries resulted in a suspect being arrested soon after the incident.
A 20 year old male will appear in the Waitakere District Court today charged with Aggravated Robbery and Wounding with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm. The penalty for these indictable offences is 14 years imprisonment.
A forensic scene examination to recover a weapon is in progress.
