Christchurch City Council’s Regulatory and Planning Committee today unanimously supported a recommendation to full Council to publicly notify plan changes 67 and 66 – Highfield (residential development) and Templeton Special Rural zone.

Chair of the Council’s Regulatory and Planning Committee, Councillor Sue Wells says, "The Council is very mindful of the housing demand and these plan changes will go to the Council on the 26 April for adoption of the committee’s decision to notify."

Highfield is a plan change to introduce a living zone in the east that will provide approximately 2200 homes. The Templeton Special Rural zone will allow for the use of the former Templeton Hospital site for a range of rural related activities.
