Police mark Anzac Day
Police staff will be marking Anzac Day by attending services throughout New Zealand.
Police Commissioner Peter Marshall says in this video ( http://www.police.govt.nz/featured/police-mark-anzac-day ) that Anzac Day is an extremely important date, and a time for the organisation to pay its respects both to the Defence Force and the New Zealand public.
"We have a proud history within New Zealand Police of working very collegially with our Defence counterparts," says Mr Marshall. "We have New Zealand Police in the Solomon Islands working with New Zealand Defence personnel.... the same situation is occuring in Afghanistan and Timor Leste."
Mr Marshall will lay a wreath at the National War Memorial, Deputy Commissioner Mike Bush will be at a dawn service in Wellington and Deputy Commissioner Viv Rickard will attend a service in Porirua.
