Mayor of Lower Hutt Ray Wallace attended three services during ANZAC Day, at the Petone Railway Station Flag Ceremony , Taita, the Hutt City Civic Service, and the Wainuiomata ceremony.

"It was fantastic to see so many people turning out this year. I was particularly pleased to see so many young people turning out to pay their respects. ANZAC Day is a commemoration but is also a celebration of freedom, hard won by those who died in the service of New Zealand," he said.
