Kapiti Police are still looking for the driver of a vehicle who failed to stop after an incident in Paraparaumu late last month.

Sergeant Sam Gilpin of Kapiti Police says at around 8pm on Friday 20 April 2012, a 32 year old man was walking south across Ihakara Street, near State Highway One, when a 4WD towing a trailer pulled out of Coastlands shopping centre and turned left, striking the victim.

"The driver of the vehicle left without stopping and didn't return. The victim received hospital treatment for an ankle injury. We want the driver to come forward and help us with our enquiries, or hear from anyone who recognises the description of this vehicle in the attached CCTV images."

The vehicle appears to be a grey or green Isuzu Bighorn towing a tandem axle trailer, with wooden and mesh sides.

Anyone with any information should phone Kapiti Police on (04) 296 6800 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
