LOWER HUTT

The council is looking for up to seven people to shape the future of the Hutt’s community and recreational facilities.

In March it agreed to set up a trust to co-ordinate development of sports, leisure, recreational and community venues to ensure residents’ needs were met properly and funding was used efficiently. As well as implementing the council’s integrated facilities strategy, the trust will also oversee administration and funding work.

Now the council is seeking expressions of interest from individuals to join the Hutt City Community Facilities Trust. Trustees will need experience in areas such as finance, business, property management and administration, though the council is hoping trustees will have a mix of attributes to give the group a dynamic and innovative approach to the job. A key requirement will be some presence in local communities.

The closing date for expressions of interest is June 8. Trustees will serve three-year terms. The positions are unpaid. Read more details on this website or contact Kate Blair on 570 6743.
