The Blenheim South Rotary Club is organising a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Beacon Lighting, celebrating the Queen's 60 year reign.

The ceremony will take place at the Alzheimers Centre, 8 Wither Road on Queen's Birthday Monday, 4 June from 5.30 am with the beacon to be lit by Mayor Alistair Sowman at 6.00 am.

This will be followed by a cooked English breakfast available to the public for a donation to charity.

The participating public are asked to bring their own chairs, plates and eating utensils.

A spotlight beacon will be also located at the Rotary Lookout on the Wither Hills or at the Taylor Pass Wither Hills carpark if the morning is wet.
