The Dollop Kitchen’s infamous Vanilla Bean Custard is a Finalist in the Australian Women’s Weekly Product of the Year Awards.

The delicious dessert accompaniment was a 2011 Cuisine Artisan Awards Winner so the nomination shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to foodies and pudding lovers in New Zealand.

Made the old fashioned way - with New Zealand milk, eggs, sugar and real vanilla bean - and packaged in a charming glass milk bottle, dollop vanilla bean custard is perfect for pouring over your favourite pudding.

Thanks to its on-going success, the dollop team has launched a mini version of the popular vanilla bean custard in a 250g size, which is suitable for smaller households and dinner parties.

Co-Director of The Dollop Kitchen, Christie McCarthy, is excited about the launch of the mini custard.

”The vanilla bean custard is such a great product and we are really proud of its success to date. Making our puddings in smaller, more compact servings means that dollop can by enjoyed as an everyday sweet treat, rather than being just for special occasions. Everyone can enjoy dollop more frequently, which is definitely a positive thing!”

The launch of the mini custard coincides with The Dollop Kitchen’s second birthday.

Since its inception in May 2010, The Dollop Kitchen has enjoyed non-stop growth and success, with its product range continuing to develop and even expanding into the Australian market.

In the coming months, Dollop Pudding fans can look forward to more products being added to the extending range as well as a refreshing rebrand from Dollop Puddings to The Dollop Kitchen.

For now, voting for Dollop’s Vanilla Bean Custard in The Australian Women’s Weekly Product of the Year Awards is encouraged when voting officially opens on Thursday, May 31.

The 250g Vanilla Bean Custard will be available from all participating retailers from Monday, June 11 2012 and will retail for $5.99.
