Experienced marketing professional Nigel Kerr has been appointed Sales and Marketing Manager for Ngāi Tahu Tourism southern regional office.

Mr Kerr brings a long history of tourism, ski and hospitality marketing experience to the role.

We're absolutely delighted to welcome Nigel to this role, said Southern Regional General Manager David Kennedy.

Nigel is highly respected and has a huge network of contacts across the Southern Lakes and New Zealand tourism industries, so we're delighted that he's chosen to work with the Ngāi Tahu Tourism team.

Mr Kerr's previous marketing experience includes 21 years at Cardrona Alpine Resort where his focus lay on brand building and raising the profile of the resort.  Mr Kerr has also worked for Queenstown's Good Group, primarily focusing on project, brand, and strategy development for the fast growing company over a five year period.

With a focus on strategic planning, Mr Kerr has run his own marketing consultancy business, Synergy in Business since 2009.  His clients have included some of the regional's most high profile tourism and regional promotion organisations.

Mr Kerr said he was very much looking forward to starting in his new position.

It would be hard not to be excited about this role, because Ngāi Tahu Tourism offers such a diverse range of iconic products and is recognised throughout New Zealand as an industry leader, he said.

I really enjoy working with the team at Ngāi Tahu, because everybody is valued for their contributions to the businesses. With such a range of products, there will be a different challenge every day.

The Ngāi Tahu Tourism southern regional office oversees Shotover Jet, Dart River Safaris and Hollyford Track Guided Walks. Mr Kerr will start his new job based in Queenstown on July 9.
