ARREST IN SIX MONTH MURDER INVESTIGATION:

Waitakere Police have made a significant break through in Operation Hope with the arrest today of a 27 year old Waitakere man for murder.

Operation Hope was established when the body of Charanpreet Singh Dhaliwal, a 22 year old security guard, was found at a West Auckland construction site on Friday 18 November 2011.

The officer currently leading the investigation Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown says the arrest comes as a result of information from members of the public and the hard work of a diligent dedicated investigation team.

Mr. Brown also acknowledged the support offered by the Auckland Indian community to the investigation team.

The investigation team would still like to hear from anyone who has information that may be relevant to this investigation.
