Far North District Council Judicial Recount

Les King, candidate for the Western Ward of the Far North District Council, lodged an application with the District Court for an application for a Judicial Recount for the Western Ward, under section 90 of the Local Electoral Act 2001. There were 15 votes between him and the lowest successful candidate (Laurie Byers).

A recount has been completed today and the result is unchanged i.e. Councillor Byers remains in office with a 15 vote majority.
