LOWER HUTT

Mayor of Lower Hutt Ray Wallace told 60 students from St Peter St Paul School in Knights Road about being a good citizen when they visited the Mayor's office this week.

The middle school is seeking to understand different roles and responsibilities of leading figures in the community. Mayor Wallace told the group that among them was a potential future Mayor." I am really pleased the students are interested in being good citizens of Lower Hutt and the questions they asked showed they had thought about their city and enjoyed living here," he said.

Emergency management and preparing for earthquakes and other natural disasters was also a topic that captured the interest of students. After watching a video about " I Love Hutt City," the students had the chance to try on the Mayoral robes.
