Mayor Praises Massey University's 'Exemplar' Building
Massey University's new creative arts building - Te Ara Hihiko - has been praised by Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown for its creativity and earthquake engineering.
"Everyone associated with this building should be proud of Te Ara Hihiko as an exemplar of contemporary and resilient design," says Mayor Wade-Brown.
"Te Ara Hihiko has to be considered a building that provides leadership nationally, and internationally, in terms of quake-resilience, environmentally-friendly design and its fusion of art and functionality.
"It is also a magnificent asset for the teaching of the creative arts. Its facilities will help nurture the talent needed to keep Wellington's creative industries flourishing in our smart capital.
"I congratulate Massey University for investing in such a magnificent facility."
