Minister announces new board appointments

State Owned Enterprises Minister Tony Ryall today announced five new appointments to the boards of Genesis and Meridian, and four reappointments to the boards of Solid Energy and Mighty River Power.

In his capacity as the Minister of Health Mr Ryall also announced an appointment to the board of Health Benefits.

New directors on SOE boards are:

  • Genesis: Alison Andrew (General Manager for Orica Chemicals NZ Ltd and engineer by training), Andrew Clements (private equity specialist as former MD of Emerald Capital Ltd and executive experience with companies such as Goodman Fielder Wattie), John Leuchars (KiwiRail director and civil engineer with international consulting experience)
  • Meridian: Mark Cairns (Chief Executive of the Port of Tauranga Ltd) and Sally Farrier (Australia-based electricity, gas and water industry specialist)

 

Directors reappointed to the Board of Mighty River Power are Trevor Janes, Jon Hartley and Dr Michael Allen. At Solid Energy, Allan Broome has been reappointed.

The new director on the Board of Health Benefits Ltd is Craig Climo, CEO of Waikato DHB.

The Minister wished to thank all retiring board members for their contribution and service.
