It’s high time Otaki MP Nathan Guy made his position on the Capital Connection clear says Palmerston North MP Iain Lees-Galloway.

"At public meetings held in his electorate this week, many of Mr Guy's constituents expressed disappointment that his initial support for the Capital Connection has waned considerably.

"With the service in danger of being cut at any moment and the Government sitting on its hands, Mr Guy should be using his influence as a minister to get the result his constituents want.

"And that means the Government has to step in and instruct the NZTA to back the proposed funding package to keep the Connection going. No MP in the region is better placed than Nathan Guy to encourage Transport Minister Gerry Brownlee to make the right decision.

"Now is the time for Mr Guy to publicly state that he unreservedly supports the proposal to save the Capital Connection,” said Iain Lees-Galloway.
