WELLINGTON CITY

Soon you'll be able to apply for Council funding online - from 1 August the paper system will be replaced by a new online portal.

To give us time to get the new system up and running, we've moved the deadline for the General Grants round from 31 July to 31 August.

The online system will be quicker and easier:

  • when you've registered and applied for funding once, making future applications will be simple - you'll just log in, check your details are correct and reapply
  • it will speed up assessments
  • you'll be able to report back to us online.

Most grants are funded by rates and go towards community projects. Funding is provided each year for initiatives that contribute to the social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing of Wellington residents.

We're running information sessions on Council funding:

  • 6.30pm - 8.00pm, Wednesday 25 July, Tawa Community Centre
  • 1.00pm - 3.00pm and 6.00pm - 8.00pm, Tuesday 31 July, Toi Pōneke Gallery, Abel Smith Street (creative / arts focus)
  • 6.30pm - 8.00pm, Tuesday 31 July, Newtown Hall, Daniell Street
  • 6.30pm - 8.00pm, Wednesday 1 August, Newlands Community Centre
  • 10.00am - 1.00pm and 6.00pm - 9.00pm, Thursday 2 August, Wellington City Council, Wakefield Street.
