Missing Chinese National located and facing deportation
A Chinese National last seen in 2005 has been located and is now awaiting deportation from New Zealand.
Late last month, Wellington Police renewed their call for any information relating to the whereabouts of Lei Nie, last seen in May 2005, following an annual review of the file.
Detective Sergeant Corey Watts of the Wellington CIB says as a result of an Immigration New Zealand investigation Lei Nie was taken into custody in Hastings on the 21st of June, under a false name.
"His identity has since been confirmed as that of Lei Nie and he is now awaiting deportation to China. Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance."
