Temporary Closure of Bell Block Walkway

A popular shortcut in Bell Block will be closed for up to two weeks from tomorrow (Thursday) due to the operation of heavy machinery.

A section of the Waitara to New Plymouth sewer pipeline is being installed on a walkway that connects Dillon Drive and Amy Way.

Manager Projects Jim Willson says because of the narrow width of the walkway, public access will need to close while work takes place.

“We’ve managed to keep the walkway open until now but we’re entering a narrow section where we can’t have the public and the machinery side by side,” he says.

Contractors will reopen the walkway as soon as possible. In the meantime, the public will need to use alternative routes.
