Rebuild Christchurch Website Redeveloped to Improve Information Flow
After almost two years and a huge amount of work, rebuildchristchurch.co.nz has been re-developed and re-launched.
www.rebuildchristchurch.co.nz website director, Ben Young together with the man who started Rebuild Christchurch, Deon Swiggs, has completely rebuilt the website platform to better service the ongoing need of supplying up to date and relevant information, during the next phase of the recovery of Christchurch.
“The new platform allows for future expansion and further streamlining as the site grows,” Ben says. “It will allow us to further develop mobile integration as more of us live our lives on smart phones and this will allow us to be more responsive to the ever changing needs of our community so that we can deliver a platform for the people who need it, when they need it.”
Swiggs, who has just marked an extraordinary milestone of more than 4000 hours, all voluntary, says the need in Christchurch for up to date information continues to be key for many people, particularly as the number of major infrastructure projects and roadworks continue to grow.
“www.rebuildchristchurch.co.nz reaches almost 10,000 people a day which is a clear signal to our team that this is the website many are going to for pertinent information relating to the recovery and rebuild,” he says. “Things like up to date detail of roadworks, closures, timelines and other important information is easily accessible and available on rebuildchristchurch.co.nz”
Deon adds that www.rebuildchristchurch.co.nz is fully independent and one of its main goals is to provide open and transparent sharing of information around issues concerning many in Christchurch.
“People from Christchurch, around New Zealand and the rest of the world want to know what’s happening in our city and this is the website to go to, to find that information.”
Deon Swiggs acknowledges the Rebuild Christchurch and Rebuild Christchurch Foundation team members who have also worked an immense number of hours voluntarily.
