Mercury Bay Service Centre Relocation.
The Mercury Bay Service Centre will be closed for business all day on Friday 30 November 2007 to allow for a move to the new Mercury Bay Service Centre at 10 Monk St, Whitianga. Anyone wanting to contact the office will need to call the Thames council office at 07 868 0200 on the day of the move. However the service centre re-opens at the new Monk St location on Monday 3 December 2007 and all telephone contact details remain the same - Ph 07 867 2010 for enquiries. The council apologises in advance for any inconvenience.
Wastewater Treatment Plants powering ahead!
Tairua and Pauanui’s new wastewater treatment plant is being commissioned now and tanks are in the process of being filled with sewerage. It is expected the plant will be fully operational by mid-December and will then undergo a two month operational proving period to ensure it does all the things it’s designed to do. Meanwhile, major construction work is underway on the Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) tanks at the new Whangamata Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Summer Refuse Transfer Station Hours
Transfer Station opening hours increase for all refuse transfer stations except Thames over the summer peak starting on 24 December 2007. Opening hours return to normal after 29 February 2008. The hours contained in the TC Talk ratepayer newsletter apply during this summer peak peak period.
